Read 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Pastor Winans describes the moment he held his puppy and how he knew this was his dog. He owned this animal. What are some ways that we recognize we are owned by Jesus? How do you find your belonging and new life in Christ because of what Christ has done for you?

Because God has chosen us, we belong to Him. He will care for us just as a shepherd cares for his sheep. How are we like sheep? How is God like a shepherd?

God takes care of us. What does this mean? What does this not mean? In your life, consider seasons of abundance and seasons of scarcity. How has God cared for your needs during these seasons?

Read John 14:26-27. In our day-to-day lives, we may struggle to always be aware that we have a Good Shepherd who is there and gives us peace. How does God give us peace?

What are you facing in your life right now that is causing anxiety or worry? What seeks to take your peace?

Read Phil 4:11-12. Are there certain situations in your life or goals/achievements that you are tempted to think, "when this problem is resolved, then I will have peace?" Or, "when I achieve this goal (a promotion, complete a degree, etc.) then I will be content." Discuss any that come to mind in your group.

In Philippians 4:6-7, Christians are called to, "in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (NIV) How does praying give us peace?
